What is improvisational theatre?
Improvisational theatre, often called improv or impro, is the form of theatre, often comedy, in which most or all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted: created spontaneously by the performers. In its purest form, the dialogue, action, story, and characters are created collaboratively by the players as the improvisation unfolds in present time, without use of an already prepared, written script.
Where can I learn and do this?
I'm based in Eindhoven with my Improv group: Chili Con Comedy. We are a group of Improv enthusiast that perform every last Friday of the month at the Hub Eindhoven for Expats. This is also where we have our Tuesday open evenings from 19.00-21.00. You can join for free the first time to experience what Improv is. If you are already interested in learning it or when you want to learn more you can join one of my courses!

What is the Yes and-principle ?
This is the key principle of Improvisation and is a metaphor of how you can live your life.
In Improvisation we learn to connect with each other via open and positive communication. Accepting that what has been given to us and building on it. We learn to communicate by receiving(listening and observing), accepting(YES) and returning(AND). We open up our mind and body to receive any form of communication that has been given to us. This is living in the now, accepting this as the truth and building together towards the future. This principle is called the: "YES AND-principle"
